    The Park

Due to the location of Writtle Park Playground being central to all things Randwick, there’s a chance you might want to stop by when you’re in the area.

The playground is made up of older-style, brightly painted metal and plastic equipment; but some of the pieces of equipment aren’t the ‘standard’ parts you’re probably used to. There’s enough variety to cater to children up to 11 years old.

The playground is fully fenced and completely covered in softball rubber, which has splashes of different bright colours. A shade sail covers the combination unit, and tree canopy shade manages to protect the swing set to the side.

There are play panels on the ground floor of the play unit, swing, and a spinner, to cater to younger children. Older children can test themselves with the play unit, handle money bars, swing, rock climbing wall (which is a great addition!) and rope climbing frames.

There’s a grand, flat lawn area outside the fenced play space. This provides the perfect spot for kids to kick a ball or run around. A path runs through the park from one end to the other. It’s quite narrow, but could be used for kids to play on their bike, scooter, skateboard or rollerblades if it’s not busy.

There’s limited furniture enticing you to stay long in the park. But there is a litter bin and a seat table in the fenced play area, which is handy for parents and carers to use as a change table if necessary.

    Highlights

The playground is fully fenced, shaded and finished with softball rubber. The flat grass area next to the playground provides a great space for children to kick a ball in a more quiet, but central, area of Randwick.
