    The Park

The playground is located west of Tamarama Beach, in the gully. Being close to such a beautiful beach in the Eastern Suburbs gives you an excuse to plan a beach day or pit stop along the coastal walk!

The playground has a good variety of play equipment, with children up to about 11 getting the most value. The main piece is the combination play unit, which is more challenging than a typical play unit, offering play value for older kids. The majority of the play space is covered in an earthy-coloured rubber wetpour, with playground mulch used around the swing set.

The combination play unit is filled with physical development opportunities, including a ladder, balance bridge, fireman’s poles, standard slide, and pole slide. There is a swing set and mini see-saw to complement the space.

A shade sail covers the play space, and there are a variety of different seating options, including standard bench seats, low wall seating and picnic settings. The surrounding lawn is perfect for throwing down a towel or rug to lounge on too!

Tamarama Beach is incredibly popular. So depending on when you visit, it’s likely the park and playground will be busy. But if you’re lucky, you might be able to find a free patch of grass next to the playspace to kick a ball.

Tamarama Park is well equipped with facilities, encouraging you to picnic and stay the day in comfort. There are covered shade structure huts scattered throughout the park, barbecues, drinking fountains, toilets and even a kiosk near the beach!

The playground is set back from the beach and lowered from the adjacent Tamarama Marine Drive, making it relatively safe and secure. Some small trees border the playspace, giving it its own sense of place. The trees also double as shade.

We love the location and glimpses of the beach you get from the playground. Tamarama Park is full of facilities, including barbecues, shaded picnic settings, toilets and a kiosk, making it easy to plan a visit and comfortably stay for the day.
